As Scripture says, the Church is the family or household of God (Eph. 2.19), and this takes root in the local community. Holy Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God parish is a local community of God's Church, the ancient Christian Church, God's Holy Catholic and Apostolic Orthodox Church, a Church that includes holy people of old and was made the Body of Christ as the fulfillment of His Incarnation. We are dedicated to being serious about God, to building up each other personally, as families, and as the family of God.
Our parish is over a quarter of a century old and was founded by Fr. Anastasije Arthur Starr (Starkovic), who was our first Parish Priest until his repose in fall of 2003. Our second and current Parish Priest, Fr. Harry Linsinbigler, was appointed in late 2003 and began work on January 1 of 2004. Holy Protection is an established parish of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the United States of America of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and a member jurisdiction of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.
Our parish has been involved in many outreach programs over the years, including but not limited to hospital ministry, prison ministry, clothing the needy, feeding the needy (giving away free dinners and also distributing food during the year), gifts to troops, among many other things. Our current ministry focuses toward the community are listed on the home page.
